It was overall pretty good! It’s a little 1/2 oz container of 84% Kavalactone paste I have. On the label, it states to take two pea size servings and you can take a booster every hour. And not to take more than 6 pea size servings a day. Now, I’ve read that many people don’t feel effects of Kava the first time, so I probably ate at least a quarter of the container to try to ensure results. This I think was more than the recommended daily amount. But that’s just according to the FDA, so to actually feel something you probably have to take more than what they say anyway.
The paste itself looks, smells, and tastes pretty gross. I was using Bud Light to chase it because I find that beer works fairly well to chase something nastier. I’ve used it to chase Robitussin too. I have a hard time getting drunk off of Bud Light, so I don’t think it contributed too much to the effect, although it may have helped. I also noticed that as soon as the paste hit my tongue, it would numb it a little.
I started feeling solid effects after about an hour. I started to get a lot of energy and a small numbing sensation all over my body. It made me want to talk about weird shit, but I was by myself. I got up and danced to some music and felt pretty loose. This energetic phase lasted probably roughly 2 hours. After that, I started getting really tired and ended up going to sleep.
I’ve read other people who have used the paste claim to have had liver pains when ingesting a lot. This shouldn’t (and didn’t) happen as the paste is made purely from the Kava Root and not the rest of the plant. I’ve also read that many people experience hangovers from it, but this also did not happen. I felt fine the next day. Everyone’s different though.
I’m totally looking forward to trying more, especially since the effects are supposed to get stronger the more often you use it.
